On the banks of Tâmega River
In Amarante, you can play golf and stroll along the typical houses on both banks of the Tâmega River, the longest tributary of the Douro River, which has its source in Galicia and runs through the centre of the city.

By the beach

During the Discoveries, Esposende, which is today a sought after holiday destination, was an important fishing and marine port, and today it is still active. On the mountain
In Vidago, set in the Trás-os-Montes council of Chaves, you will find one of the best golf facilities in the north, the Vidago Palace Golf Course.
This 18-hole golf course is part of a park that boasts a recently rehabilitated palace from the early 20th century transformed into a hotel. There is also a 2,000 sq.m SPA designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.
In addition to golf, the more enthusiastic visitors can ride a bicycle or go horse-riding, play tennis or take a bracing dip in the hotel pool.

The best way to go from the International Airport Francisco Sá Carneiro to the city centre is to take the underground. The trip takes about 30 minutes.
To go to Esposende and Póvoa de Varzim, follow the A28/IC1 or the EN13. If you want to go to Ponte de Lima, drive to Viana do Castelo and take the A27 after crossing the bridge over the Lima River.
To drive to Trás-os-Montes, take the A4 heading to Amarante and then the IP4 to Bragança and you'll reach the heart of the region.
